Electricity

Electricity is one of the most versatile forms of energy that we use it cannot be stored but generated on demand.. it is transfered around the country using the national grid.

Electricity that we use in our homes is very dangerous to experiment on so in class we use D cells to provide power for our experiments.

to start with we should know the difference between series and parallel circuits.  This sheet should help you

We can model electric circuits using computer software.  this has the advantage that all the components always work and give you the ideal answer.

You need to learn some electrical symbols. The flash cards found here can help you. One way to use them is to print them out, cut them up them play snap.  to make it easier you could print each page on a different colour so that it is easy to tell the difference between the symbols and their meanings.

We use the program below at school but you can download and use it at home for free.

This program models several areas of physics and can be used for work well above CE standard.  take time to learn how to use it should you want to play
